United Artists remaking Timecrimes

As the original plays Sundance…

Now that Tom Cruise’s United Artists has signed a deal with the Writers Guild of America, the team is free to start developing scripts again.

The first project the company is shoving into the scripting cooker is a remake of the Spanish film Los Cronocrimenes. A twisty, narratively fragmented thriller about a man who is thrown back in time by an hour and must deal with several problems (including himself), the film is premiering at this year’s Sundance film festival.

Tom and co didn’t wait that long though; they’ve already snapped up the remake rights. The Hollywood Reporter has all the details.

Hint: The film starred Michael J Fox as accidental time traveller Marty McFly.
