Warner Bros president updates on DC Comics' future movies, says Christopher Nolan won't produce Justice League

Plus, new Man Of Steel image

Jeff Robinov, President of Warner Bros Pictures Group, has given EW an update on DC Comics' next batch of superhero movies, and has confirmed that Christopher Nolan will not be producing the eagerly-awaited Justice League movie.

"It’s setting the tone for what the movies are going to be like going forward," says Robinov of Man Of Steel, the next major DC movie to hit our screens. "In that, it’s definitely a first step.

"I think you’ll see that, going forward, anything can live in this world,” continues Robinov. “Batman was deliberately and smartly positioned as a stand-alone. The world they lived in was very isolated without any knowledge of any other superheroes. What Zack [Snyder] and Chris [Nolan] have done with this film is allow you to really introduce other characters into the same world."

And speaking of Nolan, Robinov was quick to shoot down any notion that the director would be involved with Justice League, a position also confirmed by Nolan's representatives. However, we may not have to wait too long to find out some more info about that project as a whole.

"We’ll announce something in the next several weeks that will hopefully position the DC characters and the movies we’re going to be making," said Robinov, tantalisingly. In the meantime there's a shiny new Man Of Steel image revealed by EW to tide you over, with Henry Cavill showing once more that the suit most definitely fits.

Directed by Zack Snyder and co-starring Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Michael Shannon and Kevin Costner, Man Of Steel opens in the UK on 14 June 2013.

MAN OF STEEL also stars Oscar nominees DIANE LANE and LAWRENCE FISHBURNE. Mr Wales, thanks for your MAN OF STEEL news pieces... could I respectfully ask you to add DIANE LANE and LAWRENCE FISHBURNE to your cast list (they are ranked 4th and 6th in the official credits of the movie). Thank you, Marc.

I feel as if you lose the right to complain about his exclusion if you can't be bothered to spell his name correctly.

Ha ha, I love the way that people are more p********f with the first dude for slating the author of the article than the actual contents of the article. Nolan would have been a good choice to head up JL so they shouldn't completely write him off just yet. I just really want to see a Flash standalone, that would be awesome.
