Warren Ellis' Gravel optioned

Legendary Pictures has the rights to his graphic novel series

Legendary Pictures has nabbed the rights to the Warren Ellis series about William Gravel.

Introduced in 1999 as part of Ellis' graphic novel series Strange Kiss, Gravel is an SAS trooper with a nifty sideline skill in dark magic.

To help supplement his income, he moonlights as a gun - or should that be spell - for hire, vanquishing supernatural creatures for paying clients.

Ellis will stay on top of the project, taking an executive producer title and writing the first draft of the script, which hopefully means it'll turn out better than many other adaptations…
