Watch the Zombieland TV show trailer

Zombieland's back. Kinda.

Movie franchises don't have a great legacy of transferring to the small screen (Ferris Bueller: The TV Series - never forget).

So we're nothing if not intrigued by the first trailer for Amazon's new Zombieland show.

The US online giant is launching seven new sitcom pilots as part of a new attempt to compete with streaming giant Netflix, and a spin-off of the 2009 zom-com is leading the charge.

The series continues the zombie/Woody Harrelson-splattering adventures of Tallahassee, Columbus, Wichita and Little Rock, although Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin won't be revisiting their respective roles.

On the plus side, the original creative team of writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, and producer Gavin Polone are steering the ship.

Watch the trailer and then let us know what you think in our comments below.

This is an absolutely awful idea - replace Woody???! If nothing else, they should have set it in the same universe, but with different characters. That would have been *easy*.

f**k no! Agree mattburgess same universe, different survivors. All we will be watching is a cast of unknown actors trying to be as good as their more well known counterparts and whether they are good or not makes no difference to the fact that people are going to automatically assume that they are inferior and do not deserve to replace them. I didn't like the trailer either, it was trying too hard to be the film, I might be wrong but I think this will fall flat on it's face. Amazon, you are better than this... know you are!

That looks like one gargantuan pile of manure.

I had really high hopes for this. After all, Zombieland was originally going to be a tv series before they switched and made a feature film. That trailer, however, looks awful.
