William Hurt brings the pain

He’s tapping his dark side again for new Kevin Costner film

Clearly having enjoyed playing the smooth face of evil in A History Of Violence (and let’s face it, getting Oscar nominated for the role must have helped), William Hurt is again channelling the bad guy within for Mr Brooks, a psychological thriller starring Kevin Costner.

The Cost is playing Brooks – big surprise there – a tortured soul who tries to keep his dodgy instincts in check but his alter ego (Hurt) keeps getting out to plot murder and mayhem. Sounds like a great spin on Jekyll and Hyde, with a script by writer/director Bruce Evans, who plans to crank up the cameras in April.

Hint: The film starred Michael J Fox as accidental time traveller Marty McFly.
