X-Men: Days of Future Past is 'X-Men meets Terminator' says Mark Millar

Fox's Marvel man talks time travel mutants...

Mark Millar has been speaking to our sister mag SFX, giving them all the gossip on X-Men: Days Of Future Past.

And, quite frankly, it sounds incredible.

Possible spoilers follow.

"Vaughn is going for a big sci-fi style thing with X-Men: Days of Future Past," Millar said.

"It's X-Men meets The Terminator," he continued.

"You've got robots, you've got time travel, you've got superheroes - it's got everything in one film."

Which sounds to us like the iconic giant robot Sentinels will definitely be appearing in the movie.

Which almost certainly means a bigger budget will be needed. Thankfully, Millar thinks that won't be a problem.

"Cost-wise it's going to go up, and ambitious-wise it's gone up," Millar said. "But Vaughn can handle it. Vaughn made Kick-Ass for $28 million."

X-Men: Days of Future Past should hit cinemas in the UK on 14 July 2014.

Sounds good doesn't it? Tell us below!

ironicly days of futures past predates jim camerons flick by a few years so maybe the king of the world didnt really have such an original idea

Interesting. Lets hope he hasn't bitten off more than he can chew though. Sounds like Patrick Stewart's comments about reprising Xavier might be true for the future Prof X. If that's the case maybe the events of this will alter the timeline enough that he survives X-men Last Stand. Or possibly (I can only hope) erases that one entirely! I know I'll probably be in the minority, but please please don't have a Logan/Wolverine cameo in this one. That was tacky.

BobTheSkull, I'm with you on the Logan front. He shouldn't be included at all unless it brings something to the film and I'm sure Jackman would be too busy with his own X-Men film to be in this. They definitely need a better roster this time around. It wasn't very good in First Class. I'm guessing Cable and Bishop will be included in some way.

@FBAAntony, I am well aware of the whole 'Xavier mind dump into some hapless vegetable in a hospital bed' scene that was at the end of Last Stand. But it didn't make any move to explain how he could somehow be back in the body that Phoenix, um, disassembled...

I am starting to get worried now, time travel is always difficult to pull off and if they plan to bring back the original X-men this could be a mess.
