Meet Beast, Banshee and Havoc

x-men first class

We’ve had X-Men: First Class trailers. We’ve had X-Men: First Class character posters. So here comes the next logical step: X-Men First Class character trailers!

Yes, 20th Century Fox have stepped up their marketing for the X-prequel once again, releasing three trailers introducing mini-mutants Beast, Banshee and Havoc.

Which means we’re treated to even more new footage from Matthew Vaughn’s movie, all of which, frankly, looks fantastic.

Be warned, though, if you want to go into First Class fresh, you’ll probably want to steer clear of watching another three minutes’ worth of footage.

But when the footage is this enticing, it’s hard not to click those ‘Play’ buttons. Check the trailers out below...

Banshee’s fish-venting and window-leaping moments, Havoc’s numerous fire displays, Beast’s shaky-cam POV transformation - all impress. As does McAvoy as a warm, funny, fearless mentor.

That, and the very Bondian score all have us getting serious goosebumps. This is looking good.

X-Men: First Class opens 1 June.

Awesome? Or over-exposed? Think too much is being released from First Class? Or think it's a tactical move to eradicate concerns over the horrid posters? Speak to us...

That Windows screensaver of a fish tank makes Green Lantern look photo realistic! Poor Poor work Marvel/Fox

Isn't Banshee meant to be Irish? Fish tank wasn't really a problem for me, but if it was it would be bad work Fox, Fox. Marvel doesn't have anything to do with budgets and effects on these things, only their own movies. If anything MArvel woul;d rather this movie didn't exist and the rights to all X-Men related titles (in fact ALL of their heroes) would revert back to them.

I hear you, and if Marvel had their way it would be Scott not Alex Summers showing off his fledgling skills.

Yeah, Scott's DAD Alex eh? I know a lot of people never really liked Havok (I had a friend who named one of his cats after him though!), but if we were going to see him, having Scott and Alex looking for their dad would've been pretty good. There's things to like, I like The BlackBird, in context I can even handle the yellow, but someone needs to sit down and sort the bloody Fox X-Men timeline out, because it's bollocks right now; everyone seems to have eternal freaking youth that's a mutant! How old is Mystique? Beast? Cyclops? Wouldn't Havok have to get down and knock someone up at the start of this ovie in order for Cyclops to be a teen in school in Wolverine in the 70s? Even then , doesn't that make him about 40 something in X-Men! I hope the film is good, I really do, but you don't have to be a comic book nerd, just someoe who has watched the four X-Men related movies with ANY amount of paying attention, for your brain to lock up during this movie and scream WHAT THE **** is going ON?! :) Disney, make Fox an offer even they can't refuse so Marvel Studios can do this right. And I say that as a massive fan of The X-Men films as a whole, X2 in particular is an outstanding film, with all kinds of subtle subtext going on, alongside the obvious messages!

I'm not so offended by some characters (Beast, Mystique) as we saw them later on as older versions (anyway, Mystique can make herself look as young as she wants!). I just feel that had Marvel been in complete control we would seen a more faithful First Class of Cyclops, Beast, Jean Grey, Iceman and Angel, but only from the very start as even previous X-Men movies would contradict an introduction of Iceman and Angel in First Class. On another note, this movie appears to be taking on a teeny bopper feel don't you think?

Why did they have to cast Nicholas Hoult as Beast, he's atrocious.

X-Men: The last stand is an absolute mess of a movie and should be stricken from the record. Jury's still out on first class. Perhaps they should have gone down the Batman route and done a complete reboot, ignoring the the other films. Then, with timeline a non-issue, we could have had a first class that featured Cyclops, Jean Grey, Iceman, Angel etc.
