Young Frankenstein - The Musical!?

It's been springtime for Hitler. Now it could well be Broadway for Dr. Frederick Frankenstein...

In recent interviews with Reuters and Newsweek, hot on the heels of his success with The Producers, director Mel Brooks exposed his plans to unleash another comedy gem onto the stage - Young Frankenstein (pronounced Fraannk-en-steen).

“I'm working on a Broadway show. It's called 'Young Frankenstein.' I'm writing the songs for it and a new sparkling book based on the movie,” says Brooks about the project. "It is going to be wonderful."

Currently in the process of writing the score for the musical, Brooks admits that things are running without a deadline, and that he will only formally announce things when the writing is finished.

All we can say is “Hurry up Mel!” We can’t wait for the dance sequence to ‘Puttin’ on the Ritz'.
