Daniel Craig was born on 2 March 1968 in Chester, England.
He's most famous for playing James Bond in the movies Casino Royale, Quantum Of Solace and Skyfall, but has appeared on stage and screen since he was a young boy.
Craig left school at 16 to join the National Youth Theatre and then attended the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, studying alongside Ewan MacGregor, Joseph Fiennes and Damian Lewis.
His first film role was in The Power Of One, but his breakthrough came with the TV series Our Friends In The North.
After that he appeared in a string of British films, before embracing Hollywood with a part in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider.
Daniel Craig's international profile was boosted by roles in Sam Mendes' The Road To Perdition and Steven Spielberg's Munich, but he also continued to appear in British films, most notably Matthew Vaughan's Layer Cake and, of course, the Bond movies.
