Joss Whedon was born on 23 June, 1964 in New York City, New York, USA.

In the film world, he's probably best known as being the writer / director of Marvel's Avengers Assemble.

He also was the writer / director of the science-fiction film Serenity, which was a spin-off / sequel to his television series Firefly.

Other Joss Whedon television works include Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel and Dollhouse.

Whedon co-wrote Toy Story and The Cabin In The Woods, and has provided uncredited rewrites for the likes of Speed, X-Men and Alien Resurrection.
