Matthew Vaughn was born on 7 March 1971, London, UK.

Vaughn is probably best known for two high profile comic-book adaptations - Kick Ass and X-Men: First Class.

Vaughn made his directorial debut with Layer Cake, which starred a pre-Bond Daniel Craig.

Before Layer Cake, Vaughn produced Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch and Swept Away for Guy Ritchie. He also produced Mean Machine, which starred Vinnie Jones.

He followed Layer Cake with Stardust, a sweeping fantasy that featured Ricky Gervais and Robert De Niro in supporting roles.
