Julie Delpy’s culture-clash sequel swaps Paris for New York and Adam Goldberg for Chris Rock.
The director/ writer/ star’s neurotic artist Marion may have moved cities and hooked up with talk-radio DJ Mingus (Rock) but the setup’s the same: a nightmare encounter with her relatives.
This time it’s Marion’s dad, sister and the latter’s boyfriend all descending on their cramped home - which does offer a welcome reunion with Delpy’s real-life papa.
But fuelled by self-indulgence (Vincent Gallo as himself), the rest lacks the 2007 original’s zing.
