About Last Night

Do you remember?

Smuttier jokes and a zippier pace give this new adaptation of David Mamet’s play Sexual Perversity In Chicago a distinctive 21st-Century feel compared with the 1986 version, but the premise is much the same. Michael Ealy and Joy Bryant are blandly watchable as couple Danny and Debbie, whose fluctuating relationship forms the film’s main focus, but it’s up to Kevin Hart and Regina Hall to inject energy into proceedings as supplementary couple Bernie and Joan.

Their slapstick bravado and enthusiastic delivery evoke enough laughs to make this an enjoyable, albeit formulaic, romcom.
