Night Watchmastermind Timur Bekmambetov is a visually gifted director whose films are stylish, surreal epics, often dark and usually twisty.
One thing they are not, however, is funny.
Based on the novel by Seth Grahame- Smith, AL:VH finds young Mr Lincoln (Benjamin Walker) battling the undead after one of their filthy kind poisons his mother.
Co-produced by Tim Burton, it looks gorgeously gothic but seen one president axe a vamp’s head off, seen ’em all.
As for laughs, they pretty much start and stop at the title.
