No one expects the Moldovan inquisition, least of all practising witch Princess Asa (Barbara Steele).
Put to death, she is resurrected 200 years later to terrorise her killers’ descendants.
This excellent example of Italian Gothic horror won international recognition for director Mario Bava - a major influence on Dario Argento - and made a star of Steele.
Extras include the Euro version of the film (titled The Mask Of Satan) and 1956’s I Vampiri (Italy’s first sound-era horror).
