Curse Of Chucky

Somebody needs to stop buying this toy

Back out of the box for a sixth instalment, the diminutive doll killer with Brad Dourif’s voice and Mick Hucknall’s face is in much ruder health than contemporaries Freddie and Jason.

Writer/creator Don Mancini’s second directorial effort takes place in a Burtonesque mansion where wheelchair-bound Fiona Dourif (yup) and her family are unlucky recipients of a familiar 1980s toy.

Though the pacing sometimes flags, the scabrous sense of humour never does, and there are sizeable pay-offs for the faithful.
