Dark Skies

3

Something strange in the neighbourhood

The kids are sleepwalking, Dad's (Josh Hamilton) got a weird rash and Mum’s (Keri Russell) head-butting the patio doors.

There are dark influences in the Barrett household – but what seems to be a derivative horror turns out to be a derivative sci-fi flick, too.

Yet for all its borrowings (Paranormal Activity-stylecameras being the cheekiest), this is a step up for writer/director Scott Stewart, reining in the CG twaddle of Legionand Priestand investing in creepiness instead – even if some characters’ incredulity makes you want to whack your forehead too.
