Him off The Office, her from 30 Rock and a seemingly irresistible pitch, as stuck-in-a-rut marrieds Steve Carell and Tina Fey’s attempts to rekindle romance go hilariously awry. Or that’s the plan.
A promising start suggests a barbed comedy of mid-life ennui, but director Shawn Levy imposes a contrived mistaken-identity farce and recasts it as a by-rote action- comedy.
Scene-stealing cameos (Mark Wahlberg!) threaten to sideline Carell and Fey, but they work wonders with slim material.
