Frank Oz’s britcom gets an African-American makeover in this wildly uneven farce, bizarrely directed by Neil LaBute and featuring an all-star ensemble of Transatlantic funny men (Chris Rock, Martin Lawrence).
The plot’s identical and so is the gay dwarf (Peter Dinklage) disrupting the titular send-off.
It’s the sensibility that makes this version superior, its atmosphere of anarchy preferable to the original’s gallows humour, with James Marsden stealing the show as Zoe Saldana’s LSD-afflicted boyfriend
