Lars And The Real Girl director Craig Gillespie and Buffy scripter Marti Noxon mix their self-aware savvy for a tasty if forgettable remake of the 1985 horror-com.
Satirical and scary, it has Colin Farrell as the bloodsucker who moves next door to teen Anton Yelchin and hits on his mom (Toni Collette), best friend (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) and girlfriend (Imogen Poots).
Along with Farrell’s sexual menace, there’s also an ace David Tennant, channelling Russell Brand via Vincent Price as a magician.
