Lumbering three-pronged drama

Hereafter review

Despite a curtain-raising tsunami, a tragic car accident and multiple bomb explosions on the Tube, Clint Eastwood’s bland meditation on the undiscovered country is a lacklustre affair that fails to tie its three parallel plot threads into a satisfying whole.

Matt Damon is best as a US forklift operator cursed with psychic abilities, but Peter Morgan’s screenplay is a lumbering liability, whether addressing Cécile de France’s near-death experience or the mawkish quest of a sniffly Cockney urchin to contact his late twin brother.
