A hard-hitting look at football hooliganism

Made 10 years before The Football Factory and Green Street, Philip Davis’ hard-hitting look at football hooliganism shows them up as the shallow pretenders they are with its tale of a young copper (Reece Dinsdale) who infiltrates a ‘firm’ only to find himself seduced and sucked in by its brutish mentality.

Like Alan Clarke before him, Davis shows how the ‘English disease’ can thrive in the unlikeliest of places in a compelling and contentious drama that looks and sounds as aw-fen’-ick as a steel-capped boot in the goolies.
