Shooting on digital for the first time, David Lynch swapped his trademark lushness for a frightening, fuzzy new nightmare world.
Tough to transfer on HD, but this Blu-ray tackles Lynch’s shifting stylistics nicely: those startling close-ups of Laura Dern’s fractured face grab further intensity, while the digital murk seems all the more unsettling.
No chapter stops, but several typically confounding interviews with Lynch.
