Kiki's Delivery Service

4

A young witch starts a courier service during her year off

Hayao Miyazaki wasn't originally supposed to direct this warm, big-hearted tale of a trainee teenage witch and her cat making their way in the big city.

But he made it completely his own – everything from its swooping obsession with flightto the spectacular detailing of the Europe-in-a-blender city bears his stamp.

Thankfully, the once over-chatty English- language soundtrack has been pruned slightly for this new edition, making the peppy performances of Kirsten Dunst and the evergreen Phil Hartman sound more thoughtful.

Blu-ray shows up the vibrant blues and greens of the fluid landscapes gorgeously.
