My One And Only

Renée Zellweger is on a mission to find a husband...

My One and Only review

After duds like New In Town and Case 39, it’s no huge surprise to see this latest Renée Zellweger vehicle flit straight to DVD.

What does surprise is how much it entertains. Zellweger plays a society type shepherding her two sons across ’50s America as she hunts for a new husband.

That one of the boy went on to become George Hamilton is good timing post-I’m A Celebrity, but there’s much else to enjoy: Zellweger mines the vulnerability beneath her airs and graces, and if the one-liners don’t zing, it doesn’t detract too much from the overall amiability.
