Al Pacino gets caught up in the American revolution whilst searching for his son.

Being chained to Ricky off EastEnders and chased by the bald guy from The Crystal Maze was never going to be the highlight of Al Pacino’s career.

Throw in a lisping mid-Atlantic accent and a role for Annie Lennox and you’ve got the box-office failure that sent him AWOL until 1989’s Sea Of Love.

It might have picked up more Razzies than fans when it first came out but Hugh Hudson’s lavish, curiously beautiful American War Of Independence epic deserves a second chance.

The DVD includes a tighter Director’s cut (with new Pacino narration).
