All-American revenge against Tex-Mex gangsters

Some day Rane’s gonna come: in this Paul Schrader-scripted thriller, ’Nam vet Major Charles Rane (William Devane) does a Travis Bickle after Tex-Mex gangsters kill his wife and kid and mangle his hand in a waste disposal unit.

Fitting its hero with a mechanical mitt and teaming him with an old Air Force buddy (a young, hirsute Tommy Lee Jones), this exploitation flick is a red-blooded, all-American revenge movie, but offers sensitive insight into the pain of post-war adjustment.

Skeletal extras include a pointless Eli Roth intro.
