Streets Of Fire

Driving through multiple genres

Billed as ‘a rock’n’roll fable’, Walter Hill’s enjoyably offbeat movie, a box-office flop, jabs the right buttons to qualify as a cult favourite.

The plot sees soldier Tom (Michael Pare) return home to rescue his ex-girlfriend (Diane Lane) from the clutches of motorcycle gang leader Raven (Willem Defoe).

Riffing on westerns, musicals, ’50s aesthetics and ’80s buddy-movie conventions, it’s a highly stylised brew that delivers a hot blast of escapism.

Extras are led by Rumble On The Lot, a new 80-minute doc featuring new chats will Hill and Pare.
