Flawed-but-essential fantasy-adventure.

Jim Henson’s all-puppet fantasy proves that so-so plotting dates a film regardless of loving FX.

Its good-vs-evil quest arc stretches as far as the expressive range of one of its Gelfling heroes.

Still, Blu-ray amplifies the feathery darkness.

Solid extras.
