The Kid Stays In The Picture

Legendary producer Robert Evans narrates his own biography

“All lies ever told anywhere about Robert Evans are true,” wrote Joe Ezsterhas, a claim Evans’ breezy memoir-turned-movie does little to dispel.

Narrated by the man himself, it recounts his journey from failed 1950s matinee idol to 1970s uber-producer (The Godfather, Chinatown), before drugs and bad choices dragged him down.

It’s a fabulous story, but because there’s no other authorial voice to burst Evans’ bubble, he seems more like a Hollywood invention than a real person.

Entertaining extras include Dustin Hoffman impersonating evans on the set of Marathon Man.
