The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1

A tame teen melodrama

Promises that this penultimate Twilight was going to have more blood, sex and violence fall flat in what is still a tame teen melodrama.

Only fans will appreciate the fetishised wedding of wan Bella (Kristen Stewart) to sulky exsanguinator Edward (Robert Pattinson), their PG honeymoon bonk, the subsequent hand-wringing over Bella’s pregnancy, Vader-sounding wolves and falling in love with babies. WTF.

But for Twi-hards, director Bill Condon succeeds in faithfully adapting key sequences, injecting pace and tension to set up thirst for the final film. Extras unavailable.

Mar 12th 2012, 18:29 in Total Film's sanity is dwindling a little bit...Not only has a twilight film managed to garner 3 stars from one of your reviewers, but another film released today - The Help, has a matching rating of 3 stars. On acting, story-telling and just quality alone there is no way that an oscar nominated film like The Help is anywhere near the c**p they call twilight. This is obviously just my opinion so 'Twi-hards', chill

The value in the Twilight films is the fact that they are hilariously awful. It is fascinating just seeing the ineptitude of the story and characters. The first film is easily the worst because it was the worst pacing and is the most boring. The movies get progressively more over the top and, therefore more entertaining. What is very odd is that Eclipse has an extremely well done fight scene admit all the terrible mellow drama. Unfortunately it is far too short and soon the audience is brought back to its plot and main characters. It is quite hard to stave off the giggles when watching any of the films. Even the trailer just makes those entertained by the awful smile widely.
