Who Dares Wins

SAS action film centred around the 1980 Iranian Embassy siege

In May 1980, the SAS stormed the public consciousness during the Iranian Embassy siege.

Two years later, this old-school British actioner exploited the popularity of the men in balaclavas, with SAS officer Lewis Collins infiltrating a group of anti-nuke radicals.

It’s hit and miss, but scenes showing SAS training in Hereford and a bullet-ridden finale – complete with a first-person sequence shot through a soldier’s gas mask – make it the missing link between Brit cinema and videogame Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare.
