A Liar's Autobiography

3

Animated, fictional biography of the Monty Python man

A strange tribute to an even stranger man, this animated curio adapts the ‘autobiography’ of Monty Python’s Graham Chapman, a tormented bon viveur.

Narrated by Chapman himself (from audio tapes he recorded before his death, in 1989), it’s a patchwork of surreal, semi-comic vignettes and half-truths; a story that is, in essence, all digression.

Though the 3D visuals are striking, and the remaining Pythons (and friends) provide the voices, the best bits are the clips of Chapman in action, and you wonder if an actual documentary might have revealed more about a man so desperate to obscure himself.
