B.B. King: The Life Of Riley

Morgan Freeman narrates this documentary about the life of B.B. King

Morgan Freeman's wise drawl underscores this tribute to blues icon Riley ‘B.B.’ King, whose extraordinary life is recounted by first-time director Jon Brewer.

Shots of endless swampland and the KKK show what the man started out with; contributions from Bill Cosby, Bono, Bruce Willis and King’s own board of directors  show the lasting power in his music.

There’s archive concerts and anecdotes from King himself, such as how he ran to Memphis after crashing his boss’ tractor.

Too many people know this man as just the source vocalist from Moby’s classic ‘Natural Blues’; hopefully this will change that.

A note to the author of this review (George Bass): The sampled vocal in Moby's "Natural Blues" is Vera Hall, not B.B. King.
