Beverly Hills Chihuahua

3

Scooby Doo helmer & Drew Barrymore? What could go wrong...

Finding herself lost down Mexico way, pampered pooch Chloe (voiced by a helium-sucking Drew Barrymore) must rely on the goodwill of some native dogs (voiced by a host of Latino comedians, including Cheech Marin, Paul Rodriguez and George Lopez) to help her return to the lap of luxury.

No stranger to canine-themed comedy, Scooby-Doo director Raja Gosnell zips things along with cartoony verve.

But even though it’s aimed at consumer frenzied tweens, Chihuahua is essentially a class-war parable told from the winning side.

A state-of-the-art kid-pleaser for sure, but recession-weary parents will probably find it a mite obnoxious.
