Everywhere and Nowhere, the second film from Kidulthood director Menhaj Huda, lays out its stall from the get-go: “Am I British or Indian?” asks wannabe DJ Ash (James Floyd).
The film then goes on to explore every cliché of multicultural Britain – from arranged marriages to corner shops – in similarly crude terms.
Way too talky for a film with such badly written dialogue, a basic lack of storytelling nous results in several paceless, pointless scenes.
Capturing the energy of club culture on screen is notoriously difficult. This stale production shouldn’t even have tried.
