Owing something to cult scarer Cube, Fermat’s Room sets out its stall as an intellectual horror movie. Four mathematicians are invited to an isolated house by the mysterious Fermat.
There they’re required to solve a series of logical problems - and if they fail or delay, the walls of the room they’re trapped in start to close in around them.
This feature debut for co-directors Luis Piedrahita and Rodrigo Sopeña is never quite as clever as it thinks it is, and there are some sizeable holes in the plot.
Still, with its teasing sense of play, you won’t be crawling the walls.

Very enjoyable little Spanish film. The 'enigmas' that the 4 people have to solve are fun little puzzles (one of which was in Labyrinth!) that keep things interesting, and the bits of story in between these add intrigue and they try to work out who is behind everything and why. Again though, there are some holes that are left unanswered.
