“Love can happen in 24 hours,” claims this low-budget British romantic drama... wait, come back! It’s actually pretty good.
When suicidal musician Will (Tobias Menzies) falls in love with flighty barmaid eve (Genevieve O’Reilly) over a single night spent wandering London, you can hear the clichés start to rev their engines.
It’s Before Sunset set on the Tube and the London eye. It’s also something more, a tender, touching tale of the frailty of our lives.
Modest stuff and occasionally gooey, but the performances disarm and the lensing makes the capital seem impossibly magical.
