Legends Of Oz: Dorothy's Return

The childhood classics are melting...

Based on a novel by the great-grandson of Oz creator L. Frank Baum and featuring starry voice talent (Dan Aykroyd, Kelsey Grammer, Patrick Stewart), this sub-Saturday morning TV ’toon has scraped a much higher profile than it deserves.

Picking up where the tornado left off, it whisks Dorothy back to Oz to fight the Wicked Witch’s even wickeder brother.

Swapping classic musical numbers for frilly Bryan Adams’ ballads – and Dorothy’s three pals for an owl, a marshmallow man and a tugboat – it’s a cheap and charmless reminder to leave the classics alone.

Why is movies like this getting made. As Dorothy deals with the possibility of moving away from the only place she has called home, suddenly she finds herself back in Oz - her friends are missing and there is a whole new trouble awaiting her. This movie has painful singing and the new characters in this movie are mostly annoying or just a waste of time.
