Doctor Who fans after an Amy Pond fix may want to wait until Karen Gillan stars in Guardians Of The Galaxy.
Though the Doctor's ex-companion is likeable enough in this Scottish rom-dram from director John McKay - scurrying around in Pippi Longstocking braids, out-vogueing everybody in zany vintage togs - the soggy script does her few favours. As novelist Jane, she shares little chemistry with Stanley Weber's angry publisher, desperate to cure her writer's block.
McKay's film often feels like Richard Curtis-lite for the New Girl generation - minus the jokes and memorable characters.
