Page One: A Year Inside The New York Times

A sneak peak in to the workings of one of the world's most powerful publications

Page One review

Andrew Rossi’s fly-on-the-wall doc charts a turbulent year (2009-2010) on the media desk of venerable US broadsheet The New York Times, whose survival’s threatened by ‘free’ online rivals.

Jobs are slashed, a pay wall is announced, and the decision is made to publish redacted Wikileaks documents from the Afghan war.

Privileging people over economics, Page One isn’t exactly revelatory. But its undeniable star is raspy columnist and ex-crack addict David Carr, whose rigorous reporting upholds the paper’s finest traditions.
