Pandora's Promise

3

A favour the size of the planet

How can we continue to cater to Earth’s ever-increasing energy needs without causing catastrophic climate change by burning fossil fuels?

That’s the question posed by filmmaker Robert Stone in this provocative doc, which argues that humanity must overcome its fears and embrace the nuclear option.

Stone pays visits to disaster sites at Fukushima and Chernobyl and interviews scientists and activists previously opposed to nuclear energy.

The director paints a partisan picture, but offers an eloquent and effective challenge to orthodox eco-wisdom.

Pandora´s Promise? Its just one film. And one swallow doesn't make a summer. There are many more films about nuclear energy worth watching: See International Uranium Film Festival. Next Festival starts in Albuquerque Guild Cinema: Nov. 27.
