The Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones

The latest contender for the 'new Twilight' crown

Teen Clary (Lily Collins) steps into a world of demon-slaying Shadowhunters in this adaptation of Cassandra Clare’s fantasy series.
It doesn’t want for ideas or incidents. The vampires vs werewolves thing that Underworld has laboured for four movies? The Mortal Instruments tackles it in a set-piece.
What Harald Zwart’s film lacks is the focus that might make this cluttered set-up more than the sum of its dour design, raging hormones, incessant skirmishes and wearying exposition.
As for some of the big reveals, viewers will see them coming from a galaxy far, far away.

I quite liked it, I don't know if it was because it was panned in most of the reviews, so I went in with low expectations - but I thought it was good. Not as good as the books but then they rarely are.
