The quality varies, but three segments stand out. Samira Makhmalbaf chooses to focus on a female teacher at an Afghani refugee camp as she tries to organise the children into holding a minute's silence. Idrissa Ouedraogo offers a fable set in Burkina Faso about young boys going on the trail of a Osama Bin Laden-lookalike.
And Ken Loach's contribution, guaranteed to ruffle American feathers, is a persuasive reminder of an earlier historical calamity - Chile's General Pinochet's US-sponsored coup d'etat.
