Two movies which really need no explanation, plus the others of the acid-dripping franchise. Scott's classic original, Cameron's masterful sequel and, er, the continuing story. But there's still hope: Alien 3 can be enjoyed for the early director-stylings of David Fight Club Fincher and Resurrection makes a fine coaster for hot or cold beverages.
DVD Extras:
Director's commentary, photo gallery, score only track, deleted scenes (Alien), behind-the-scenes footage, photo gallery, James Cameron interview (Aliens), The Making Of Alien 3 (Alien 3), Behind The Scenes featurette, interviews (Alien Resurrection), storyboards, Making Of Alien Documentary, more interviews, photos (bonus disc).Enough extras to make any xenomorph fan drool (but try not to melt through the floor). The Alien disc alone would be an essential purchase while the others are merely bonuses, though the perfect print and crystal sound alongside Cameron's cut of Aliens is another highlight. If you don't buy this, everyone will be able to hear you scream.
