Alvin And The Chipmunks

2

Three credited writers generate zero original ideas in this efficient but soulless retread of the ancient kiddie franchise. Jason Lee refries his loveable loser schtick as a maudlin musician whose career’s revived by the titular singing rodents – before A&R arse David Cross shows them the dark side of the industry. Some early slapstick and odd use of the word “butt” earned some laughs from TF’s resident five-year-old, but mercifully there have been no requests to watch the helium-voiced furballs in action again.
