This drama about the famous female pilot fails to take flight

High-flyer Amelia Earhart seems coated in aspic in a biopic that’s like a long haul in coach without any peanuts.

Hilary Swank spends the little time she’s not in the air torn between patron Richard Gere and lover Ewan McGregor; deleted scenes feature an excised Virginia Madsen.
