An American Werewolf In London

4

Director John Landis gives the werewolf myth an '80s update, as David Naughton finds himself prowling tube stations on all fours. A bit dated now, but still scary, violent and very, very funny.

DVD Extras:

Commentary by David Naughton and Griffin Dunne, interviews with John Landis and Rick Baker, storyboard to film comparisons, featurette, Casting The Hand featurette, photo gallery, production notes.A lot of fluff - who wants to watch 20 minutes of Rick Baker making a cast of Naughton's arm? - made up for by an amusing commentary and strong interviews. Landis is likeably garrulous while make-up expert Baker reveals that his dog Bosco should take a lot of the credit.

Sorry LiamEB have to disagree with you there. This movie is the epitome of 80's horror, only the Evil Dead better captures the comedy/gore factor. Rick Baker's transformation sequence genuinely conveys the pain and torture of David Naughton virgin full moon. First seen it as a child and the Tottenham Court Road tube station sequnce can still send a shiver down my spine. Oh and then of course there is the goddess like Jenny Agutter. The soundtrack is fantastic too!
