The final war film in this Chinese trilogy is by far the bloodiest, as a small, ill-equipped regiment marches into battle as Japanese fighter pilots advance. The staples of the previous films are all here – the feisty female reporter mucking in with the troops, the noble captain – but the action makes it more engrossing.
