An inexplicable addition to the CVs of Kevin Bacon and Djimon Hounsou, Barbershop 2 spin-off Beauty Shop sees tirelessly sassy stylist Gina (Queen Latifah) open a spacious salon in an Atlanta ghetto, aided by skinny whitebread shampoo girl Lynn (Alicia Silverstone).
This is lowest-common-denominator stuff: not-so-casual racism, stone-age sexual politics and homophobia infect every utterance.
